About CentreLearn

When we founded CentreLearn in 2000, our goal was simple but revolutionary: We wanted to build a world-class learning management system, one that would help organizations harness the power of the Internet to deliver training and share information among multidisciplinary groups - and to do it in an easily trackable, cost-efficient way.

The CentreLearn Learning Management System was first deployed in 2001 to meet the training, record-keeping and continuing education needs of thousands of medical professionals who form the multidisciplinary disaster response teams of the United States Department of Health and Human Services National Disaster Medical System. CentreLearn continued to grow in popularity among private companies, local and state government agencies, and the military. In 2005, CentreLearn merged with EMSED.COM, a leading provider of online multimedia continuing education programs and training program support services for emergency medical services agencies and fire departments.

CentreLearn’s Principals

James N. Eastham, Jr., Sc.D

Jim brings considerable expertise to his role as Chief Executive Officer of CentreLearn. He has more than 30 years experience in emergency health services research, administration and education. He is a former faculty member in the Emergency Health Services Department at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and served for many years as department chairman and director of graduate studies. In 1996, he designed and directed the development of the nation’s only online learning Master of Science degree program in Emergency Health Services Management Studies. He left the university in 1998 to create EMSED.COM, which rapidly became a leading provider of online continuing education support services for emergency services professionals. He served as President and CEO of EMSED and guided the company through its merger with CentreLearn in 2005. Dr. Eastham is a nationally recognized expert on the use of Internet-based learning strategies and has served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of EMS Educators and the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services. He has also led several national committees to establish recommendations, policies and procedures for the appropriate use and accreditation of Internet-based learning programs in Emergency Medical Services education. He holds a Doctor of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health.
